Tarts n Talons

All nails are by me unless otherwise posted. My personal blog was getting flooded by my nail art so I gave my talons their own blog.

This über-feminine glitter polish is I Deglaze With Wine by Vivid LacquerI Deglaze With Wine is a glitter topper filled with a wide range of purple, red, and garnet hex glitter. I layered one coat over OPI Vant to Bite my Neck? I bet it would look great over a number of different colors!

You can buy I Deglaze With Wine from the Vivid Lacquer Etsy Shop.

This subtle polish is called Snowjob from Vivid Lacquer. Okay, first up… SNOWJOB. hahaha! That name! Anyhow, Snowjob is a sky blue base filled with iridescent hexes and shreds, plus chunky and fine white glitter. This polish is part of the Winter 2012 collection, and is limited edition. I layered a couple coats of Snowjob over Sally Girl Coconut. It’s so pretty! It really does remind me of twinkling snow.

You can pick up bottle of Snowjob at Vivid Lacquer’s Etsy Shop.

Another awesome polish from Vivid Lacquer! This glitter bomb is Step Away From the Tinsel. It’s a glitter topper filled with mini iridescent and holographic bar glitter, plus small iridescent hexes. This polish is part of the Winter 2012 collection.

I layered two coats over black and sealed it all with some SV. You can buy Step Away From the Tinsel at the Vivid Lacquer Etsy Shop.

Lots more Vivid Lacquer polishes to come! Anni expanded one of her most popular polishes, Theoretical Rockstar (you can see my swatch here.) She’s come up with four more polishes based on the same idea. Theoretical Girlfriend, Vegan, Gamer, and Blogger. They’re jelly polishes packed with coordinating colored glitter and a small dose of holographic powder. BAM! Click on each picture to see what I layered them over.

You can buy these polishes and more at Vivid Lacquer’s Etsy Shop.

More Vivid Lacquer polish swatches! These two stunning ones are part of Anni’s St. Patrick’s Day Collection.

First up is Vivid Lacquer Leprechaun Dust. Leprechaun Dust is a limited edition polish. It features a dark grass green crelly base, designed to be warned without a base color. It is filled with iridescent glitter in several sizes for a subtle shimmer. I used three coats for my mani.

Then we have Vivid Lacquer Rainbow’s End. Rainbow’s End is a limited edition glitter topcoat reminiscent of a pot of gold sitting in a grassy field. It features round gold glitter, and holographic green/gold glitter in multiple sizes in a clear base.

You can buy them and other awesome polish at Vivid Lacquer’s Etsy shop.

Hey babes! Anni over at Vivid Lacquer has been busy! She has a new spring collection called The Evil Collection of Evil. These seven polishes are all inspired by Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. How utterly cool is that?! I’ll be posting my swatched photos of the collection over the next few days.

First up is Evil League of Evil. It’s a deep plum jelly with purple micro glitter, shimmer, and blue and purple square glitter.

You can buy Evil League of Evil and the rest of the collection at the Vivid Lacquer Etsy shop starting January 18th. Anni will have mini and full-sized bottles in stock. Also, check her Facebook page for updates, sales and more photos.

This is the last Vivid Lacquer polish that I’ll be swatching from this collection. This pretty jelly polish is Theoretical Rockstar. Sound familiar? Anni has revamped this polish (you can see the old version here.) She tells me that Theoretical Rockstar is now a medium grey jelly nail polish packed with black, white, and silver micro glitter. This polish is easily layered to give depth, and sparkles in the sun due to a small dose of holographic powder. I think it’s stunning. In October I did a Halloween nail art challenge and one of the days I did gravestones. This polish would be great to layer over a grey to create a stone or concrete look. With Mint Green, it reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Yum!

I’ve swatched Theoretical Rockstar with 1 and 2 coats. And then I layered 2 coats over CQ Mint Green. It’s so pretty that I’m going to leave this manicure on. You can buy the new Theoretical Rockstar at the Vivid Lacquer Etsy shop.

If it isn’t painfully obvious, I have a serious obsession with glitter nail polish. I love them all, I can’t get enough! If this sounds like you, then boy do I have a polish you’ll love. This OMG glitter insanity is Woo! Tangent from Vivid Lacquer as part of her Thankful For My Console Collection. Anni describes Woo! Tangent as “a glitter bomb that is designed to be completely random. Every glitter I possess is mixed into a large batch and poured into every bottle to give a dense glitter finish that is entirely unpredictable.” It sounds perfect to me!

I swatched Woo! Tangent with 1 and 2 coats. And then I layered one coat over Essie Lilacism. You can really see the variety of all the different glitters. LOVE! You can buy Woo! Tangent at the Vivid Lacquer Etsy shop.

This stunning polish is Would You Kindly? from Vivid Lacquer. Would You Kindly? is part of Anni’s Thankful For My Console collection. This polish is a glitter topper filled with bronze, gold, and silver glitter in various sizes in shapes, plus gold flakes.

I’ve swatched it with 1 and 2 coats and then layered two coats of Would You Kindly? over Wet N Wild’s Black Creme. I would wear this for any special occasion, it’s so glamorous, don’t you think? You can buy Vivid Lacquer indie nail polish from her Etsy shop.

This stunning polish from Vivid Lacquer is Spaaaace! from Anni’s Thankful For My Console collection. Spaaaace! is the answer for those of us who have limited success with galaxy nail art. This inky blue base is full of holographic gold and silver glitter, rainbow flakies, and tiny white and yellow hexes.

I swatched it with 1 and 2 coats and also attempted a small galaxy over two coats of Spaaaace! (no basecoat color here!). It’s hard to see the flakie goodness that is in this polish but it’s very well named. Spaaaace! is full of polish depth and wonder. Get yours at Vivid Lacquer’s Etsy shop.

If there’s something that Anni from Vivid Lacquer does right, it’s making jelly polish. Her newest polish In the House of Upside-Down does not disappoint! It’s from her Thankful For My Console collection. In The House of Upside-Down is a translucent, teal base filled with holographic pink and blue glitter in hexes. The real fun here involves some interesting glitter shapes: blue and pink dots, plus pink butterflies!

I’ve shown it with 1 and 2 coats and then also layered over Jesse’s Girl Glee. I am absolutely in love with this polish! It’s so squishy and jelly! You can buy In the House of Upside-Down at the Vivid Lacquer Etsy shop.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Earlier this week Anni sent me some of her new Vivid Lacquer polishes to swatch. I’ll post them this week.

Up first is Vivid Lacquer’s Pick Your Portal. It’s part of her Thankful For My Console collection. It’s a white jelly nail polish filled with orange and blue hexes in multiple sizes. You can see it swatched with 1 and 2 coats. I also did some nail art with it. I used two coats Pick Your Portal over Kiss Nail Art in White, Orly Blue Collar, and OPI A Roll in the Hague.

You can buy Pick Your Portal at Vivid Lacquer’s Etsy shop.
